Admission Process
Step 1 – Verify your eligibility for an exchange program with your home university
Contact your international office at your home university to verify your eligibility for an exchange program.
Step 2 – Be nominated by your home university for an exchange program at ESG UQAM
Through our online form, your home university must nominate you for an exchange program at ESG UQAM.
Step 3 – Complete our online application form
Once your home university nominates you via our online form, you will receive an automatically generated email with the procedure to submit your online application.
You must complete the admission form and submit the following documents via our platform:
- A copy of your individual record of civil status or any other document (e.g. birth certificate) attesting to your identity and including the names of both parents (a requirement of the Government of Quebec);
- Photocopy of your passport ID page (Does not replace the birth certificate);
- An official transcript of all courses completed to date in your current program;
- A list of all courses taken during the two semesters preceding your arrival at ESG UQAM;
- When required, a certificate attesting to your French or English language skills, depending on the language of your course selection;
- Your course selection for your exchange semester(s) at ESG UQAM.
Remarks:
- Incomplete applications of candidates for an exchange will not be processed until all the required documents are uploaded online. UQAM’s Service de l’admission will not treat files with missing information;
- Documents must be in French or English. If not, please provide a translation with the original document. Non-official translations are accepted;
- Applications of candidates for an exchange may be accepted after the application deadlines (April 30th and October 15th). However, it is generally impossible to guarantee late applicants that they will receive their acceptance letter early enough to enable them to complete immigration procedures, if required.
Step 4 – Receive your acceptance letter
As soon as you receive your UQAM letter of acceptance with your student ID number (code permanent), you can start preparing for your exchange semester(s).
Step 5 – Join our Moodle page to prepare for your exchange semester(s)
Once your admission has been processed, you will receive an email from our international team with a link to our Moodle page (microsite). This website contains all the necessary information to prepare for your arrival in Montreal. You will also receive many preparation email with important information regarding registration to courses, insurance, housing, etc.
