Comprehensive programs
ESG UQAM offers students a cutting-edge education that covers a diverse range of subjects, thanks to 76 programs spanning bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate levels.
ESG UQAM Exchange Programs (short-term study abroad)
Each year ESG UQAM welcomes more than 650 students through our international exchange program. Generally, international students will study for one or two academic terms at ESG UQAM.
All courses taken are accredited as part of the program they are enrolled in back home and tuition fees also continue to be paid to their home university.
Several types of agreements exist between universities which enable students to participate in ESG UQAM’s student exchange program. Find out if your university is part of an exchange agreement with ESG UQAM:

- Special Agreements
If you want to participate in a student exchange, you must first contact your university’s international relations office for more information on how to proceed. They will first have to nominate you to take part in the ESG UQAM exchange program; then you will need to complete an online application for admission to the school.
ESG UQAM’s international office is on hand to assist students directly following their admission. The service helps guide students through what needs to be done before, during, and after their arrival. All the necessary details will be sent via email.
PLEASE NOTE: Once officially admitted, students will be responsible for undertaking the necessary immigration and housing arrangements themselves. They will also have to pay for health insurance ($), which is required by UQAM for all students (except countries with an agreement in place).

Cost of living
The average cost of living in Montreal is approximately $1,500 CAD per month. However, the total sum required to cover living expenses while attending ESG UQAM will depend largely on individual students’ lifestyles and spending habits (accommodation type, outings, restaurants, etc.).

Find short-term accommodation
Once you have been accepted to ESG UQAM to undertake your studies abroad, you will be informed of all the available housing options you can apply for. Please note that UQAM has on-campus residences, but availability is limited. Alternative accommodation is also available off-campus.
Insurance
As an international student, you are required to purchase UQAM’s compulsory health insurance provided by Desjardins. No other insurance will be accepted unless you are able to obtain medical coverage from RAMQ or if coverage is arranged for you as part of a scholarship award. Compulsory Orientation Day
To find out all you need to know regarding your exchange at ESG UQAM (administrative and academic procedures, etc.) and meet other exchange students, remember to confirm the date of your compulsory orientation day session. Consult the Academic Calendar (in French only).

VOYA-G Committee
The Voya-G Committee is a group of volunteer students who are passionate about traveling and who offer additional guidance and friendship to international exchange students at ESG UQAM.
Together with the International Office (Service de soutien à l’international – SSI) and various student associations, the Voya-G Committee promotes and encourages international mobility. The Committee’s main mission is to offer extra-curricular services to more than 400 students each term. These services include organizing cultural activities such as integration weekends, off-campus meet-and-greets, answering academic or cultural questions, and so on.
The goal is to help exchange students integrate easily into student life in Quebec, making sure they settle in, find their bearings and have an unforgettable experience at UQAM and in Montreal.
